SCI FI Channel announced the development of Caprica, a spinoff prequel of its hit Battlestar Galactica, in presentations to advertisers in New York on April 26. Caprica would come from Galactica executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, writer Remi Aubuchon (24) and NBC Universal Television Studio.

TiVo victorious in major DVR patent suit
TiVo now has enforced a patent that may open up huge revenue streams for the company.The company has emerged victorious in their patent lawsuit against EchoStar. The jury in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has awarded TiVo US $73 million in damages.

Caltech counter-pranks MIT by reclaiming stolen cannon
Last week, MIT students tricked rival tech school Caltech's campus security and stole the Fleming cannon, a campus landmark. In less than four days, Caltech students from Fleming House planned and executed a quick recovery operation and flew over 20 students to Boston to reclaim the three-ton, 111-year-old cannon.
